promotion.

There are four different ranks amongst Korean soldiers who serve in the military for two years. Within the span of two years we are promoted form private to seaman, seaman to corporal, and finally corporal to seargeant. Today, I become a corporal. One more rank to go and I'm out of here! Kids - notice how I address people below me as 'kids,' that's exactly how everyone refers to those who came to the army later than themselves - who are below me keep asking me how it feels to finally become a corporal. I thought about it, and told them I felt nothing. Yes, it feels nice to know that I've got this far but really that's all. A lot of other soldiers get really exicted becuase when they become a corporal they don't have to do as much slavework compared to those of privates and seamen. And they can finally start ordering around the 'kids.' How fun and nice right?

The only time I'd actually be happy is the day that I am done with the service. Moving up the rank doesn't mean much to me.
